How it all started….back in 1987
Our two founders (Mark and Martin) started off their careers with retails shops in the midlands and joined forces to buy end-of-line clearance sports products. In 1987 the pair placed their first advert in Shoot magazine and M and M Sports (now M and M Direct) was born. A mail order catalogue was launched in 1990 specifically offering top branded discount clothing and footwear. With a website following in 1998 the company has continued to flourish. In 2004 there was a management buyout headed up by business consultant Mike Tomkins (formerly of New Balance) together with ECI Partners LLP and Barclays Bank Plc. Today Mike Tomkins is the CEO.
