NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, LONDON
This is a magnificent PALACE which has within it fabulous beasts, except that's what's really astonishing is that the monsters aren't "fabulous" in a literal sense but ACTUAL, in that they actually lived! There is a room with several astoundingly big whales in it, and as well as astonishing species on show there are hands-on demonstrations of optical illusions and other scientific magic, a display on How Babies Think, - but it's not unbelievable, it's VISITABLE!
In the
front room of the Natural History Museum a skeleton of a sixty
foot long monster dinosaur looks as small as the television set
in a domestic front room. The architecture is that of a Cathedral
to Science. The power of the exhibition is not just in the scale
but in the detail, both of the exquisite edifice and of the
amazingly clever design of the hands-on demonstrations. See
yourself weighed versus an elephant. See a cup of tea that
doesn't exist. See things in your own mind that you weren't
previously aware were going on!
ADMISSION: FREE after 4:30pm for all. Some age groups free at other times. For complete pricing information and opening times, please contact the museum.
