Nickel Titanium
memory metal
An alloy of Nickel and Titanium, this metal has superelasticity and has a strange property which is best described as it remembering its shape, so a change of temperature will make it spring back into the shape it was.
Incidentally, nickel-titanium isn't the only substance that exhibits this curious property; there are various alloys and substances that do it. I have even heard that pure IRON does this, but only at 900 degrees Celsius.
