Titanium
Metal. Strong as steel but much lighter. Many uses in such diverse applications as aviation, jewellery, bicycles, industrial tools, cybernetics. Surprisingly low thermal/electrical conductivity. Does not corrode, to the extent that it can be used with biological material without rejection reactions.
